Winners for the week ending 21st November 2014 are as follows:

On Friday 5th September we held a Centenary of World War 1 Service of Remembrance on the school field to dedicate the Peace Garden and Trench Simulation. The Mayor of Scarborough, along with the President of the British Legion were in attendance. In addition the event was attended by Pipers, Buglers and Flag Bearers of the Armed Forces. Please click on this link to see some photos from the day.


2014 sees the centenary of the outbreak of World War 1. During the course of the past year the Royal British Legion has been our school charity and we have donated over £800 to help veterans and their families. As a result of our fund raising efforts we were invited to take a group of children to the Annual Flag Raising Day at the Town Hall on June 23rd 2014. On Thursday 11th September, Year 2 visited Dean Road Cemetery to look at World War 1 monuments and to take part in a history trail as part of their curriculum. Please click on this link to see some photos from the visit.

On Tuesday 16th September Year 6 visited the art gallery and the library. They learned lots from the gallery's exhibition on World War One and found lots of information about the Bombardment of Scarborough. At the library, children were given a tour, encouraged to join and got to study original pictures and letters from World War One. Please click on this link to see some photos from the visit.

During the week commencing Monday 22nd September Year 2 to Year 6 visited Sewerby Hall. Please Visit our Classes to see some photos from the visits.

On Tuesday 11th November Year 4 performed their production of Archie Dobson's War. Please click on this link to see some photos from their rehearsals and the production.

 On Friday 14th November children dressed up as super heroes and brought in copper coins for Children in Need - we raised a total of £293-64p
